Guinea pigs are usually around 2 to 3 pounds when they are fully grown and about 10 inches long with a round fluffy body. The next factor that you should consider is that getting a pet like this is a long term commitment because of their life span of up to 7 years. These are very active pets and can play in their cages during both day and night, so you must be prepared for a slightly noisy pet.

When you are going to choose a cage for your guinea pig, you need to make sure that it is large enough to accommodate them. Guinea pigs like to have different areas for different things that they might want to do, so you need to have a larger cage for them. Because they are such social creatures, it is highly recommended that you get guinea pigs in a pair because they need someone to play with. If you don’t, you need to make sure that your guinea pig has many things to do at all times.
