Choosing a Pet Carrier
Pet carriers help pet owners carry around their pets. These are most useful when traveling in a vehicle with a pet, as carriers will keep the animal confined and out of your way while you drive. If you've ever tried to drive around with an animal in your vehicle, you know just how complicated the situation can get when the pet gets bored and decides to explore.
Cats are especially difficult to travel with in a vehicle without a pet carrier. These curious pets love to curl up under our feet, and when you're driving, that means getting under the gas and break pedals. If a pet – or anything – gets under your pedals while you're driving, you could quickly find yourself in a serious auto accident. If you can't push down on the pedals because your cat or small dog is under them, you won't be able to speed up or slow down. Imagine if you needed to slam on the breaks.
Pet carriers keep both people and pets safe by saving us all from the natural curiosity that pets normally have. However, when choosing a pet carrier, you want to be sure that it's the right size for both your pet and yourself.
If you get a pet carrier to travel with in your automobile, you need to be sure that it will fit in your car. Placing pet carriers in the floorboard is a good idea because it isn't likely to move around while it's down there. You definitely don't want your pet carrier being tossed around when you turn corners a little too fast. Be sure the carrier you choose will fit in spaces like these, or that it can be seat-belted in.
